Italian residency for remote professionals. No investment, no quota, no capital lock-up.

Italy - Digital Nomad Visa

The Italy Digital Nomad Visa allows non-EU remote workers, freelancers, and self-employed professionals to live legally in Italy while continuing to work for international employers or clients. Introduced by decree in 2024, it provides a clear, quota-free legal pathway for location-independent professionals. No annual cap, no work permit required, and no need to find an Italian employer.

The visa is granted initially for one year and can be renewed indefinitely, provided requirements are maintained. After five years you can apply for permanent residency, and after ten years for Italian citizenship. Eligible applicants may also benefit from Italy's Impatriati tax regime, which provides a 50% exemption on foreign-sourced income, or 60% if relocating with a minor child, for up to five years.

Because we care about our clients beyond the visa process, we are always looking for ways to improve the support we offer. That is why we have partnered with MoveToItaly.net, a platform that provides detailed region-by-region data comparisons covering cost of living, coworking infrastructure, connectivity, and quality of life across Italy. Whether you are weighing up a base in Milan for its professional network or a smaller city like Catania for its affordability and lifestyle, MoveToItaly.net helps you make an informed decision about where to base yourself before you commit.
