Live and work in Spain as a non-EU remote professional. Legal EU residency for freelancers, remote employees, and digital entrepreneurs.

Spain - Digital Nomad Visa

The Spain Digital Nomad Visa allows non-EU remote workers, freelancers, and self-employed professionals to live legally in Spain while continuing to work for international employers or clients outside Spain. Introduced under Spain's 2023 Startup Act, it provides a clear, renewable pathway to European residency for location-independent professionals, with no investment, no capital lock-up, and no Spanish employer required.

The visa is granted initially for one year, followed by a three-year residence permit renewable for a further two years. Spouses and dependent children can be included in the same application. After five years of legal residence, permanent residency is available, and Spanish citizenship after ten years. Qualifying remote employees may also be eligible for Spain's Beckham Law tax regime, which applies a 24% flat rate on Spanish-sourced income for up to six years. This applies to employees only, not freelancers or self-employed applicants. MJR will assess eligibility as part of the onboarding process.
